New series: Coffee table book - Aegina Island Greece
Photos of places I've been that I'd love to be sitting on someone's coffee table
With the move across social media away from photos and towards video, it often feels like there’s no place for photos anymore. Which is a shame because I think it’s one of the most beautiful forms of art and story telling.
Video is lovely but you can't put a video on your wall or on your coffee table (for now, anyway). And, if you could, would you even want to?
I don’t know about you but I love the way a photo transports us but still leaves room to fill in the blanks ourselves.
If we’re lucky, someday we’ll be old and what will be left of our travels will be the photos we’ve taken and the stories we tell around them.
Here’s to that dream.
Aegina Island is a lovely little Island only about 45 minutes on a ferry from Athens. It’s generally not on the American tourists radar (for now) and that’s probably a good thing. It’s a small island that only needs a day or two to see the highlights, but please, stay longer if you are like me and prefer a bit more immersion.
Accommodations are affordable, the locals are friendly and this tiny island is absolutely packed with things to discover.
If you’re looking for something a bit more authentic than Santorini and a lot quieter than Mykonos, try Aegina.
And don’t forget to share this post with other travel enthusiasts. Your support is appreciated.
